UM MEN DISCUSS AFFORDABLE TRANSPORTATION
Will Austin, of the Institute for Affordable Transportation will be the guest speaker for the September 28  Fall Kick-off meeting.

UM Men SeptemberWill received a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Illinois in 1990. He then worked for Cooper Industries and held various positions within Quality Assurance, Manufacturing Engineering, Shop Floor Supervision and Engineering Supervision.

At Ohio State, he studied the Vietnamese and Mexican auto industries as semester projects in graduate school. Prior to graduating with an Masters in Business Administration, Will worked for Ford Motor Company as an MBA intern.

After graduate school, Will studied at the Northern Transportation University in Beijing, China, and then began working for General Motor's Delco Electronics division in Singapore. He held several financial positions in Indiana, and then took an 18-month assignment in Sao Paulo, Brazil at Delphi Automotive System's South American headquarters.

A light turned on while fly-fishing in Patagonia...quality of life is dependent upon affordable transportation. A simple vehicle that can carry heavy loads over poor road conditions could enable millions to improve their standard of living.

Based on his travels in developing areas, Will knew this truth in his heart. A small, simple, slow vehicle was imagined...the Basic Utility Vehicle (BUV). Will began working full time on the Basic Utility Vehicle in April 2000 and founded the Institute for Affordable Transportation shortly thereafter.

ATTENTION COLLEGE STUDENTS

Rev. Stacee is having a wonderful time organizing activities, fellowship times, and Bible Studies for our college-aged students.  In order to send out letters, fliers, and reminders we need each and every student's address, phone number and email address.  Even if you think we have the right address/email/phone number for you, please re-submit this information to the church office at your earliest convenience.  Parents, if your student is away at college, could you please supply this information to the church office so we can contact your student for our upcoming events.  Cheers!
