| WALK A MILE IN MY SHOES |
|
On Saturday, February 13, the team representing Grace would love to have you join them in supporting Open Arms. Please consider supporting Open Arms by walking, donating to one of the walkers or by greeting the Kokomo community in to our Fellowship Hall for breakfast that morning. Last year the team raised close to $2200 with about 30 walkers joining the Grace Team. Our two lovely pastors have agreed to a "Pastor Challenge" to the congregation. If we meet our goal of $1000 this year, they have agreed to a little fun during the February 14 worship service.
If you are interested in walking, it is not too late. Sign up in the Fellowship Hall after the 9:25 worship service on February 7 or call Susan Garner. If you are considering greeting, we need Grace members from 8-11 by the Mulberry St. entrance. If you want to walk with us, we meet at 8 a.m. for breakfast and then take a picture in the Rescue Mission parking lot before heading out to walk.
During these tough times in Kokomo, let's bring a little hope and joy to those people who are less fortunate than ourselves. Grace Church is showing its love and support by opening its doors for the community breakfast. It never ceases to amaze me with how loving and generous Grace members are to the needs of our community.
Thanks for your continuing support, Susan Garner 453-1819

HAITI
|
United Methodists have had a long-standing relationship with Haiti
through the Methodist Church of Haiti. The strong ties between the
Methodist Church of Haiti and The United Methodist Committee on Relief
(UMCOR) helped in facilitating the opening of the UMCOR Haiti field
office in 2005. 100 percent of Advance gifts made will go to support
relief and development efforts due to emergencies in Haiti.
Responding To The Need... Haiti needs help. If you can assist... make a check out to GRACE UMC. In the memo section put, UMCOR Advance #418325-Haiti.
UMCOR WebsiteUMCOR also needs health kits to distribute to Haitian earthquake victims. Grace families, individuals,
youth, children, men, or women can put together kits for about
$8-12. A list in Fellowship Hall describes specific items like soap,
hand towels, etc. You may also donate money to a United Methodist
Woman in Fellowship Hall, and the UMW will do the kits. Bring kits to
the office or parlor as soon as possible through February. |
