Dear Friends of Grace,

REMEMBER WHO YOU ARE.

Discover Your Roots... The Foundation Of Your Faith.

Welcome to Disciple III. Join us on August 19th and discover who you are.  Classes meet on Thursday evenings from 7:00 - 9:30 P.M. You'll discover the dynamics between memory and identity... feel their impact... understand.   we're a community of memory.

See the impact of Paul's experience... of the Greco-Roman culture and how Paul uses these to carry the message.  See how Paul sets the course and provides a guideline that fits into your modern world.

Paul's 13 letters establish the historical context in which the prophets spoke.

This provides the framework for the readings of the major and minor prophets of the Old Testament (excluding Daniel).

You find several themes...

            *  Call to remember.
            *  Need for renewed vision.
            *  Place of community.

And in the process learn what you are to do.

The program lasts 32 weeks... maps and charts help you step into the story.

See you then.

GRACEFUL ARTS NEEDS YOU
WHAT'S YOUR TALENT?? CAN YOU....DRAW? PAINT? SCULPT? DANCE? ACT? PLAY MUSIC?

If you've been blessed with ANY sort of artistic talent, we need your gifts!

We'd like to expand our Children's Graceful Arts programming to include all kinds of different 'arts' and we'd like to open this program to the Community.

Schools are having to cut back on their arts programs and private lessons are expensive...YOU sharing your gift ONE Sunday a month will have a huge impact on the children of our church and our community!

This program will be from 5-6 on Sunday evenings during the school year. Please contact Amanda Kelly or the Church Office for more information!

 TIME'S

RUNNING OUT!

There's only 16 days left.  Are you ready...
prepared... made all your arrangements?

What... you haven't even started yet?  Don't worry, there's still time... but you need to start now.  Dig into those boxes, get rid of those unused items, clear out those overflowing closets.

Gracie's wants your "nice" items for the garage sale.  The UMM will take almost anything except for clothing and food.  Start dropping items off on Monday August 16th thru the 18th.  In emergency cases the men will take items on Thursday.

And don't forget to come to Fellowship Hall on Saturday, the 21st, from 9:00 - 2:30 P.M. to check out all the stuff.

They'll fill the hall with items.  There'll be something for everyone.

All proceeds go to charity... leftovers go to the Rescue Mission.

If you have questions or wish to arrange pick-up of larger items, call Dave Brownfield on 455-1764 or see him in church.

Click here for a printable flyer.

See you then.
HELP US CELEBRATE

IT'S A KID AND GRANDKID EXTRAVAGANZA.

Education and Evangelism team up to bring you GRACE's FREE Neighborhood Ice Cream Festival.

It all starts in the parking lot with the bounce house, face painting, and carnival games.
Take home a balloon figurine... then top it off hot dogs, chips, lemonade, cookies or cupcakes, and of course... homemade icecream.

Reserve Sunday, August 29th, 11:30 - 2:00 P.M. NOW.

It'll be a blast... see you then.
JR/SR HIGH KICK-OFF REMINDER

JR./SR. HIGH KICK-OFF will be on Sun., August 15 at 6:30 pm to 8:00 pm.
CAN YOU HELP A CHILD?

CAN YOU SPARE 30 MINUTE A WEEK... TO MENTOR A CHILD?

This is one on one service.  You work directly with the student in areas of need.
This might include reading, spelling, or math.  But it's more than that... you develop a relationship.  You get to know each other.  You share.

The student interacts with someone who cares... who works with them to improve.  And the results show... students improve... grow.

Last year 200 participated in the Project 30 Program.  The schools asked for 350 this year.  That's a huge increase.  And the school pretty well adjusts to your schedule... your required timing... your desired day of the week.  You even get to pick the school that's most convenient for you.

And men... the ladies outnumber us by at least 4 - 5 to 1.

Give it a try.  Come to one of the 3 training programs on August 17th at 8:00 A.M., 12:00, or 7:30 P.M.  Come to the Kokomo-Center School Administration Building at the corner of Washington and Lincoln.

Or call Michelle at 452-5723 (Bridges Outreach) for more information.

Join us and help one of the elementary kids.
