Experience Grace This Week!
Dear Friends of Grace,

Coming up on Saturday, February 12th is the 2nd annual 1950's "BIG BASH" in support of Lydia's Tailoring Centre.

BIG BASH Dancers

LTC is Shirley Hoy's mission to build a school in Nairobi, Kenya that will specialize in teaching local residents, adults and children, to sew. Having this skill will enable them to make clothes for themselves as well as possibly make a living doing tailoring for others.  Learn more about the mission at

http://lydiastailoringcentre.org/

The BIG BASH starts at 6:00 pm and will feature dancing, games, contests, food, prizes and lots of FUN!

Admission is $3.00 and there is a charge for food and drinks.

You know the old saying, "BE THERE or BE..... at home watching Lawrence Welk, eating a microwave dinner in your jeans and Colts sweatshirt wishing you had gone to the BIG BASH. (It's the ginchiest!)

NEW SERMON SERIES

                             In Search Of Your Calling...

                   The Calling Of The Holy Spirit In Your Life.

Welcome to Our new sermon series... inspired by the Acts of the Apostles. They tell the story of the Holy Spirit.

The many years of mission work drew Luke, the doctor, and Paul together into the power of the Holy Spirit.

In Rome, while Paul awaited trial, Luke felt compelled to write an account of the Church's  birth.  Thus... the book of Acts.  It captures the events of Jesus' return from the grave and ministry through the Holy Spirit.

Here we experience life as God intended... envisioned.  What's so amazing is that even though the astounding, invigorating, dynamics of the Holy Spirit have never been more present and available... yet we seem at a loss as to what to do... and how to do it.  Perhaps we've been unable to hear.

Over the next 15 weeks Pastors Steve and Stacee will share some of the essential messages that the Book of Acts entails.

      * "Fulfilling our Life Mission".
      * "What is necessary for us to be a church that is truly Christian?"
      * "The need for the church: Atlas Shrunk (Ecumenical Sunday)".
      * "Have you  been trying to receive a miracle or are you asking for magic?"
      * "Getting connected - the Real Thing".
      * "When there are problems in the church".
      * "The ups and downs of life".
      * "There is nothing wrong with you that God cannot fix".
      * ... and others.

It's our hope you'll use the tools provided to practice.  It's our wish that our Sunday School Teachers and friends follow through to assure we do.  It's our prayer that at some point in the series you'll hear your call.

Good Hunting!

CHOCOLATE CELEBRATION

Chocolate Celebration Servers

    Chocolate Celebration
Do you want an excuse to eat "CHOCOLATE," and not feel guilty? If so, mark your calendar for Feb. 3rd, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. The Samaritan Caregivers Chocolate Celebration will be held at the Kokomo Mall at that time. Although the "chocolate" will be featured we will be selling Sloppy Joe sandwiches and soup made by the UMW women for those who want more of a traditional meal. There will be a sign-up sheet in Fellowship Hall for those interested in donating some time and energy to this worthwhile event or to make a donation for the purchase of ingredients.

WALK A MILE IN MY SHOES

"Walk a Mile in My Shoes"

Walk a Mile Group

February 12, 2011 will be here before you know it! That is the date for this year's "Walk a Mile in My Shoes." Grace Church will again be the host for the Walk Breakfast, so we need greeters, walkers willing to brave the cold, and people willing to donate money to support the women of Open Arms. Please consider being involved in the Walk this year. I guarantee it will warm your heart on a chilly Saturday morning in February! Contact Susan Garner at 453-1819 or skgarner@comcast.net.
