Grace's Counseling Center Opens.
The center, under the leadership of Scott Makin, Director of Wabash Friends Counseling Center, opened... and began taking appointments.
The center offers a variety of services provided by licensed counselors... such as addressing relationship troubles, addictions, or child issues.
The center plans to expand services to include group therapy and support groups. If you or someone you know needs any of these services... call 877-350-1658. They'll make a time for your session.
The center accepts most insurance providers but does not accept Medicare or Medicaid. They provide sliding scale fees, based on clients' incomes to assure availability to those who otherwise might not be able to afford it.

KOKOMO LEADERSHIP LUNCHEON SERIES
| A Joint Venture Of Grace And The Counseling Center. The series began with a bang as over 90 of Kokomo's top business, community, and spiritual leaders came to hear Dr. John Townsend in Fellowship Hall Dr. Townsend, a nationally known author and speaker, is best known for "Boundaries" coauthored with Dr. Cloud. But he authored 21 others as well. John spoke on the 5 principles of strong leadership. The group found it both interesting and challenging. Other programs planned include... * Ed Turi, an Executive Leadership Consultant, will speak on "Breaking all the rules: What the World's Greatest Managers Do Differently" on June 9th. * Bryan Orander, President of Charitable Advisors and Not-for Profit News, speaks on "The Speed of Trust" Stephen Covey's new book. * Dr. Tim Gardner, Executive Leadership Consultant, President and CEO of Marriage Ministries Inc. shows us how to build effective teams in the workplace. Another good outreach program to our community. Plan to attend. Let the attendees get to know us. |

| CALLING ALL GREEN THUMBS! | |
Mark your calendar for Saturday, May 21, 2011, from 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM. This is the date the City of Kokomo has set to plant flowers in the bump outs in the downtown area. Grace UMC has the opportunity to plant the bump out on the corner of Buckeye and Mulberry. (We even have a plaque there!)
Everyone gathers at the gazebo at 8:00 AM for coffee and doughnuts and a diagram of how and where the plants are to be placed. The City of Kokomo provides all of the planting material, dirt, and mulch. You will need to bring garden tools such as shovels, rakes, spades, brooms, and gloves.
Last year the volunteers found this was a great opportunity to clean up the area around our church as well. We swept, picked up trash, cared for the Day Lilies surrounding our parking lot, and planted additional flowers in the garden spaces in the sidewalks in front of all of our buildings. (Feel free to bring starts from home)
For questions call Betsy Durham at 453-1449
