Walk A Mile In My Shoes

Last year, about 25 walkers from Grace Church had a good, but “chilly time” walking in 2008 to raise funds for Open Arms last. Open Arms is a Women and Children’s Home Ministry run by the Kokomo Rescue Mission. This year’s Walk a Mile in My Shoes is scheduled for Saturday, February 13 and we would love to have more join our team, “The Graceful Walkers!” Well, we’ll have to see how graceful we are, but we certainly have a lot of fun! Last year we raised close to $2200 due to some pink high heel shoes. Let’s see if we can top that generous total. In support of Open Arms, Pastor Steve and Pastor Stacee have agreed to do something together, if we top our goal! More news to come in February about what that might be! In 2008, Grace Church was one of the top 3 fund raising teams!

In the past Jim Henry, Jan and Greg Wall, Dave Durham, Linda and Bill White, Barb and Mel Hobbs, Stamper and family, Sara and Chris Ponsler’s family and Chris and Mary Hedge’s family have joined us. Please consider joining the Grace Team this year!

Grace Church does host the communitywide breakfast for the Walk, so if you don’t want to walk in the cold then you might consider volunteering to greet people coming into our Fellowship Hall. The Kokomo Rescue Mission provides all the food, but we do need to set up the dining room and provide greeters for the community.
